As usual there are two ways to get it:

1. Preferred: Use the built-in updater from within Paint.NET. If you are using version 3.36, go to the Help menu and then Check for Updates. You will need to click on the Options button, and then make sure that "Also check for pre-release (beta) versions" is enabled. For v3.5 alpha/beta, go to the Utilities menu instead of the Help menu.

2. Download directly: http://www.getpaint.net/files/zip/previ ... nstall.zip . There is no need to uninstall the old version; that will be taken care of automatically.

Changes/fixes since version 3.5 Beta 3:
* Fixed some miscellaneous small issues and crashes
* Optimized performance in a few places, especially undo/redo and copy/paste
* Korean translation has been removed. Sadly, we were unable to find the resources to complete this.
* Other translations are now complete: Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish

Neat. I'll give it a go. Can't wait for the final product. :D

Thanks so much Rick for the update ;)

EDIT:
Just one request: how could we select the default format of new created files? Why don't you add this option in the Tools menu? :D Currently, it's the PNG format who's ever selected.

Very nice. My pc had a drop-down with the new Paint.NET 3.5, build 3591 Beta version that installed and the older version uninstalled. Works great so far...will test further in my art designs. Like the notice of new upgrade and the installion made so easy. tks. L

I'm not certain if this has been mentioned yet or not (I apologize if it has), but the toolbar buttons for Antialiasing and Blending/Overwrite do not have tool tips (I believe that's what it's called) where the name of it pops up when you hover the mouse over it. It's a very simply thing, yet makes it seem unfinished to me without it.

BUG:
When choosing to install the update on close of Paint.net.
The default should be not to start paint.net as last step in setup dialog.

I think that you can spend a little energy pressing the "v" before you press "finish".

How is that possibly a bug? That's not a bug. That's completely intentional.

Closing this. Final release is being published.

So, if you have a critical bug that you've found, speak NOW or forever hold your peace (create a new thread).
