New Stuff:
This gallery has been flying haphazardly through the Pictorium for far too long. :-) I've placed new items at top, older items below.

Most of my work is simple photo manipulation: punching a photo up to make it look a little better. So I took the image at left, and better-ified it into the image on the right:
Image Image
In the original, her color washes out in the background's brightness. Increasing the color saturation pulls my lovely lady forward, making her more prominent.

Also, my Stargate Universe sig/av pair:
Image Image
(Quote by David Blue's character, Eli Wallace, on the new TV show "Stargate Universe." You can catch it on Hulu, and I highly recommend it. Posted October 17, 2009)

Want to know how? Here's the tutorial.

My Signatures and Avatars:

(My least favorite sig/av combos are now hidden. Feel free to unhide if you'd like to take a look, but my gallery was getting pretty big.)
Hidden Content: Show

da Vinci:
ImageImage
(One of my favorites. This one lasted almost six months.)

Thanksgiving da Vinci:
Image
(Post-its rock!)

Christmas 2007:
ImageImage
(I like the shattered look...)

Flight:
Image
(Found a cool image. Messed with it.)

david.atwell to the Future- Part II:
Image
(Update of my favorite concept. This one uses Alpha Mask for a much better effect than Feather, which the previous one used.)

Filler Comic:
Image
(Five minute job on the sunset. I thought it was interesting.)

Indiana Jones:
ImageImage
(What? I like Indy, and I'm looking forward to the next one.)

(Hiding some more of my less favorite s/a combos)
Hidden Content: Show

Thanksgiving Day 2008:
ImageImage
(Quote is Abraham Lincoln declaring Thanksgiving a national holiday, 3 October, 1863)
(Image is from Alfred R. Waud's Sketch of Thanksgiving in camp (of General Louis Blenker) during the US Civil War on Thursday November 28th 1861.)
(I liked this one. It really tells of an understated, community Thanksgiving, as brothers-in-arms take a break from the horror of war to give thanks for the only happy constant in their lives: the camaraderie of their friends.)

Firefly/Serenity:
ImageImage
(The TV show "Firefly," which gave rise to the film "Serenity." Excellent. You should watch it. Anyway, this is a quote from one episode (by Wash, the pilot, playing with toy dinos):
Stegosaurus: Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... "This Land."
Allosaurus: I think we should call it "your grave!"
Stegosaurus: Auugh! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
Allosaurus: Ha ha ha! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die!
Anyway, this one went up in February of 2009.)

Columbine:
ImageImage
(A terrible tragedy. Ten years hence, will we still remember?

This one went up between April 20 and May 6, 2009)

Love+Hate:
ImageImage
(May 2009. A very big departure for me. 100% Paint.NET.)

(most recent now on top)

Thanks, -Expiration-. That means quite a lot, coming from such an artist as you!

@salu: When a mod bans someone, we call it using the banhammer.

Just for the use of that picture, D.A., you are forever a hero to me.
Lol

I actually really like your 3D Cube and your sunset sig.

Thanks, moeshere- but no swearing, even if it's censored. :-)

@007 Nab- thanks! I'm really looking forward to it, too.

@PoisedMaverick- I'm glad you like it. The cube one was just a Shape3D job on a gradient background, so not too hard...

Hi there "illinamorato"
I am not a big fan of sigs but I really like your banhammer (hope you are not going to use it much, though) very good choice of text and color and also your previous one with the three vignettes, waiting to see more from you (may be some images?)
Ciao

Yeah, I figured as much, but it's simplicity still makes it nice.
