AdvertisementsRecently, a concern has arisen about the appropriateness of some banner ads that are shown on this forum. We wanted to let everyone know that the Paint.NET forums have always been and will always be family-friendly; however, as we're hosted by another company, we cannot control the quality of the advertising displayed. Therefore, we (the Paint.NET forum and mods, dotPDN LLC and Rick Brewster) do not endorse or condone any of the third-party ads, or the products they advertise.
If you see an advertisement which breaks the Paint.NET or Forumer terms of use, or is otherwise offensive, please take a screenshot, copy the URL (if you can without following the link) and PM the screenshot and URL to a moderator for forwarding on to the Forumer technical support staff. Thanks!Forum DowntimeRecent events considered, we decided to clarify what the forum downtime means for us as moderators.
Put succinctly, forum downtime means "day off."

That is to say, we have no control over the forum when it's down. Since the forum and its entire database is hosted through a separate company known as Forumer, downtime of any sort is completely out of our control; we're just as helpless as are you (and, odds are, we've discovered it before you, too

).
So, here's our plea: when the forums are down, please refrain from blasting off emails to every moderator who is in your address book. We probably already know that it's down (or we'll find out about it soon), and there's little or nothing we can do about it until it comes back up. Thank you for your concern- and trust us, it's duly noted- but it's not something our attention can help in the slightest.
The Forumer staff are working as hard as possible to get us up and running again before too long. But if you can't wait that long, just point your browser to the Paint.NET chat at
http://chat.deviantart.com/chat/PaintDotNET and register for a deviantART account; we can discuss Paint.NET related topics - including support and tutorials - there.
Thanks, everybody. From all of us and our delete keys.
11 Aug 2009: Minor Rules UpdatePlease take a swing by our Rules department, where we've rolled out a wonderful new product! All rules now apply to private messages; keep this in mind in your private conversations.
(Please note: They always have, this is just making it explicit.)
Thanks for following the rules that continue making the forum a great place to be!
