I want to make a velvet cloth texture, the kind a ring would be resting on, and I'm not sure how to make it appear that the cloth ripples, and stuff.
IF anyone knows....thanks so much!!!!

Ash, I hate to be picky, but that looks more like Satin than Velvet (to me, anyways).

Maybe tone the white highlights a bit down?

But SilverIce wanted Velvet, not Satin.
Would "add noise (I=30, C=0)" help?

EDIT: There was already noise, but maybe not enough, so it look too smooth like satin?

OK, then, yeah, tone the shine WAY down and add some noise.

Velvet doesn't really reflect the light well. But, leave the shadows.

I would say a little noise with no sat and then motion blur like on the grass tut but not too wide the blur. just a little for the "fur" of the velvet

I can't get the wrinkles defined.
Any tips, Ash?

See, you have the smooth wrinkles (is that an oxymoron....??) on the 'cloth,' I just get a faint outline of a wrinkle and that's all.

I don't know how you are making the wrinkles.
I use :LinearReflectedGradient:
See if that helps.
Let me know.

Also check your Private messages, I have a little hint for your ring of fire :P
